  • Front Load

If you fancy the look of a front load washing machine, know that you will also receive an array of benefits, in addition to style, if you purchase one! A front load washer does not have an agitator and is typically more expensive upfront. However, they spin faster, extract more water, and use much less water during a cycle, making them energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Also, know that front load washing machines are more accessible to handicapped users. In addition, they are ideal for small spaces, since they can also be stacked. To add even more style to your space, you could also utilize a folding counter top to place over your washer and dryer, which will also save space.

  • Top Load

If you are searching for a washing machines that stands the test of time, a top load style may be just what you need! Top load washing machines that spin laundry around with a central agitator are usually the cheapest option upfront. They may cost more long-term, though, because they use more energy and water. Newer models don’t have this agitator, but could actually be harsh on clothing. However, a top load washing machine agitator actually allows more space for your laundry.

  • Size

Before you venture out to purchase a new washing machine, it’s important that you are aware of what size your space can accommodate! Typically, washing machines and dryers measure from about 24 to 33 inches wide. For loading and unloading, you should allow 36 inches in front of a washer and about 42 inches for a dryer. Installing a washer and dryer about 15 inches off the floor will make loading and unloading more comfortable.
