Mistakes to Avoid When Arranging Furniture in Your Home
A house really isn’t a home without furniture! Beds, couches, tables, chairs; there are certainly an array of different items that you will present throughout your home. However, in order for them to showcase a beautiful appearance, you will want to ensure that they are properly arranged.
Are you having a difficult time arranging your own furniture?
We believe that each home should present a beautiful appearance! That’s why, here at White Oak Interiors, as Chicago interior designers, we have gathered some mistakes that you will want to avoid making as you arrange the furniture within your own home. If you are all set to gain some helpful insight, be sure to continue reading:

- Don’t Forget Conversation Areas. Whether you are spending time with your family, or entertaining guests, you will want to ensure that you have a space to do so within! When arranging your furniture, you will want to create a presentation that allows you to visit with ease. Keep in mind that couches and chairs should face one another to some degree, as you will want to be able to sit comfortably in your seat, while still being able to visit others with ease. So, it’s important that you create conversation areas throughout your space!

- Don’t Push Furniture Against Your Walls. You will want your space to appear large and open. Therefore, you should avoid pushing your furniture up against the walls! In fact, by doing so, it will have your space appearing cramped. So, consider keeping at least a few inches between your furniture and your walls, such as your couches and end tables.

- Don’t Block Windows. Natural light is a beautiful way to enhance a space. Therefore, you won’t want to block any windows! Avoid placing large furniture in front of your windows, as it will create a dark and dull space, along with having it appear more cramped and crowded. However, if you feel as though you must place furniture in front of windows, it’s best to choose the smallest items, or utilize mirrors in your space, as a way to reflect light and let more in.
By properly arranging your furniture, your home will highlight a beautiful appearance! These are just a few things you should avoid as you arrange yours.
