Professional Residential and Commercial Interior Design Simplified
When preparing to decorate your home or office, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Studying interior design magazines or pondering the latest paint colors just doesn’t feel right. If selecting the perfect furniture style, fixtures and fabrics for your space seems daunting, it might be best to contact a professional interior designer.
Is hiring a residential interior designer right for you?
When it comes to interior design, we have all made mistakes in the past. After all, without the proper training, it’s easy to choose the wrong paint color, purchase an oversized couch that doesn’t fit, or select an expensive rug that just doesn’t “work” in a room.
At White Oak Interiors we understand that hiring an interior design firm is a big step, and we’ve put together a checklist to help you decide if working with one might be the right choice for you.
5 Ways to Know If Hiring a Residential Interior Designer is Right for You

Engaging an interior designer to create your perfect residential or commercial interior design lowers stress knowing the project will be completed to your exact specifications. - You want a second opinion:
Quality interior designers bring a fresh set of eyes and ears to your project. At White Oak Interiors we become your trusted advisor helping you avoid costly mistakes. - You feel you have unique challenges:
With years of experience working on projects similar to yours, White Oak Interiors can overcome special challenges when designing and decorating your home. It’s likely we have resolved your specific issue in the past. - You do not have enough time:
Professional interior designers carefully measure your space and order the proper materials and lighting to match your budget and time frames –no more surfing the web for hours or being put on hold for a customer service rep. At White Oak Interiors, interior design is all we do. Why not let us take care of the details? - You’re unsure of what companies to work with:
With so many vendors to choose from, it’s difficult to know which ones to trust. White Oak Interiors has relationships with several trade professionals. Some of the professionals we work with include: carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, tile manufacturers, carpet installers, fabric and furniture companies.
At White Oak Interiors we develop a vision for your space, and we take an innovative approach to organizing your room. With professional interior designer Carmen Boyer at the helm, your interior design goals and tastes are blended with her expertise to create welcoming and comfortable interior spaces. Below is Carmen’s unique 7-step process to ensure your total satisfaction.
Our unique 7-Step Residential & Commercial Interior Design Process
Step 1: Consultation
At the initial consultation we get acquainted with you and your home or office. We’ll discuss design ideas and prioritize your goals and decorating requirements.
Step 2: Evaluation
Next, we invite necessary trade professionals to visit the project to accurately provide estimates. Our team plans and measures to obtain correct estimates for costs of labor and materials. During the evaluation step we finalize the requirements for your interior design. Through this interactive process, we create the space you envision within the guidelines you feel comfortable with.
Step 3: Budget and Selecting Finishes
Once we have received all of the requirements for the project, we clarify the budget and timeline. At this time our designers will narrow down your selections of materials, finishes, furnishings and fabrics. White Oak Interiors offers you a myriad of options for product and material selection, and your designer will guide you to the right selection for your budget and style.
Step 4: Implementation
Because timing is critical, White Oak Interiors coordinates all deliveries of materials before the project even begins. White Oak Interiors acts as a liaison between the client and the trade professionals to complete the implementation, and we can be involved in as much of the process as you require. If you prefer to install on your own, we are glad to take a step back. In addition to checking on the progress of the project, we communicate with you keeping you informed every step of the way.
Step 5: Installation
Installation includes rugs, carpeting, furniture, window treatments and accessories. At White Oak Interiors, we recommend totally finishing the entire project including accessories and art for a completed look.
Step 6: Follow up
After the installation is complete, we will follow up to review work and assess any needed tweaks or additions.
Step 7: Celebrate
Now it’s time to celebrate your project’s completion and repeat as needed for additional phases of the project or new projects.
In addition to in-depth knowledge of products, materials, and finishes, White Oak Interiors has the training and expertise to plan, schedule, execute and manage residential and commercial interior design projects from start to finish.
